School2U Virtual Academy

For schools
and local authorities

Accountability stays with you. Evidence stays clear. The young person gets someone who does not leave.

A mentor is in place within 48 hours of agreement.

Upper Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5. Online nationally. Face to face across London and the South East.

What you receive

A mentor within 48 hours. Our relationship officer starts immediately while we prepare the young person for the full programme. The gap between your decision and something happening is two days, not two months.

A named practitioner. The same person every week.

A weekly written report on attendance, engagement and progress, in a form you can put in front of governors.

Delivery online, face to face, or hybrid, changed as the young person changes.

Assessment when it is needed. We have an educational psychologist and a Level 7 SEND specialist on the team. Independent assessments are commissioned separately and costed alongside the placement.

Every lesson and every scheme of work checked by a qualified subject teacher before it reaches a young person.

Support for the family, including counselling from an experienced parent counsellor, and parent sessions with other families.

A plan with a destination and a review date.

A direct line for the family, so pastoral time stops being absorbed by phone calls.

“If I had a problem I knew I could get in touch. I felt listened to, and I knew my concerns would be taken seriously.”

The practical detail

Our status

School2U provides non-school alternative provision, sometimes referred to as unregistered alternative provision. Placements are made as supplementary or part-time provision. The young person remains on the school roll and the school retains accountability throughout.

Cost

Costed per placement and quoted in writing before anything starts. No fees for changes to the plan. If a young person’s needs change, the plan changes with them.

Our team

Qualified and experienced teachers and tutors. A former Ofsted inspector. A SEND specialist qualified to Level 7. An educational psychologist. Mentors, a relationship officer and a parent counsellor. Many bring lived experience of the barriers our young people face. All enhanced DBS checked and safer recruited.

Where we work

Face to face across London and the South East. Online nationally.

If it does not work

Sometimes we are not the right fit. When that happens we say so early, help you find an alternative, and stay alongside the family while they navigate the change. We do not leave a young person without a next step.
